Beside the existence of the Casa de Cultura (the Culture House) ruled by the Cultural Department of the Town hall, which organises a good variety of popular activities and traditional parties, in Llorenc del Penedes there are two other institutions (partly supported financially by the Town Hall) that historically had function as Cultural Centres. Their names are ‘El Centre’ and ‘La Cumprativa’. Although it has been a long time rivalry between the two centers nowadays this rivalry has faded away leaving a more respectful atmosphere. Each of these Cultural Centres organises a huge range of activities throughout the year not only on the main traditional festive dates but also during weekends and during other random celebrations.

Both ‘El Centre’ and ‘La Cumprativa’ have different permanent active groups including amateur theatre and a huge range of groups that maintain the old traditions of the village (you will find in braces the foundation years of each association). Independent from these two ‘Cultural Centers’ and the Town hall, but receiving some economical funding from it, there are other associations that had had and continue having a huge impact in the everyday life of Llorenc del Penedes.

These associations mainly organize/participate in activities during the following Bank Holidays:
• 2nd February: ‘L’Encantament dels Rotlles’
• A Sunday in Spring: ‘Els Tres Tombs’
• 23rd April: ‘Sant Jordi Patro de Catalunya’
• Weekends of May: ‘Festes de Maig’
• 24th June: ‘Sant Joan'
• Weekends of July: ‘Juliol a la Fresca’
• 9th-13th August: Festa Major
• 11th September: Diada de Catalunya

All these organisations and dates mark the annual calendar and the seasonal and religious division of the time in Llorenc del Penedes. In a bigger or less measure almost all the inhabitants of the village participate in one or more of these organizations. They function as a means for integration and create a sense of belonging.
